Uninstall and delete your data

Uninstalling keeps your data by default, so a later reinstall continues where you left off. Deleting the data is a separate, explicit choice. Neither option contacts or changes ERPNext.

Step 1 — Control Center

Control Center → Advanced → Uninstall TaktSignal, then choose:

• Keep my TaktSignal data (recommended) — stops TaktSignal, removes its start-at-login entry and shows where your data folders are.
• Remove all TaktSignal data — also deletes the data folder (database, backups, settings, diagnostics), the log folder and the saved ERPNext keys and database password in your computer's password store. You must type DELETE to confirm. Copy any backup you want to keep elsewhere first — this cannot be undone.

Step 2 — Remove the program

Linux	App Center → Installed → TaktSignal → Uninstall (or sudo apt remove taktsignal)
Windows	Settings → Apps → Installed apps → TaktSignal → Uninstall. The uninstaller asks about your data; keeping it is the default, and it asks again before deleting.

Nothing else — no other folders, and never ERPNext. Copies of backups or diagnostics files you saved elsewhere are not touched; delete those yourself.

Delete all local data without the Control Center

If TaktSignal no longer starts, quit it, then delete the folders in the table above and, on macOS, the Keychain items named com.taktsignal.desktop (Keychain Access app), on Linux the taktsignal entries in your keyring (Passwords and Keys / Seahorse). Then remove the program.

Reinstalling later

If you kept your data, install TaktSignal again and open it: it finds the data folder, keeps your settings, administrator and data, applies any database updates and starts without the setup wizard.

In ERPNext

TaktSignal leaves nothing in ERPNext except the Reader user and role you created. To remove its access, disable or delete that user (and the role) in ERPNext.
