Community Alpha terms

1. What this is

TaktSignal Community Alpha is early, pre-release software offered free of charge so that people who use ERPNext can evaluate it and give feedback. It is published by the TaktSignal project (“we”). It may contain bugs, may change or be withdrawn, and has not been proven in production.

2. What TaktSignal is and is not

TaktSignal is decision support. It reads ERPNext data and highlights possible risks. It is not an ERP, not an MES, not a scheduler and not an autonomous control system. Its alerts, estimates and confidence labels can be wrong, incomplete or late.

3. Your responsibilities

• You remain responsible for your operational decisions. Do not use TaktSignal as the sole basis for production, purchasing, delivery, safety or financial decisions. Check its findings against ERPNext and your operations.
• Start with a staging, isolated or test copy of ERPNext. Connecting a production ERPNext is your decision.
• Use a dedicated read-only ERPNext account. Do not connect Administrator or accounts that can write.
• Keep backups of your ERPNext and of TaktSignal's local data.
• Install it only on computers you are allowed to install software on, and connect only ERPNext systems you are authorised to read.

4. Read-only design

TaktSignal is designed to only read from ERPNext and never to create, change or delete ERPNext documents. We have tested this carefully, but in alpha software we cannot promise the absence of every defect; the read-only account is your second line of protection.

5. Your data

TaktSignal runs on your computer (or your server). The ERPNext data it reads is stored in its local database under your control. We do not receive it, collect it, sell it or use it for advertising or AI training. The installed product sends no telemetry. Diagnostics files are created only when you ask and reach us only if you send them. The privacy policy explains the details, including what the website itself processes.

6. Feedback

Feedback, bug reports and suggestions are voluntary. If you send them, we may use them to improve TaktSignal without obligation to you. Please never include credentials, backups or real customer, supplier or factory data.

7. Licence

TaktSignal is proprietary software. The Community Alpha is licensed to you — free of charge, for downloading, installing, running and evaluating it on computers you control — under the TaktSignal Community Alpha Licence, which ships with every download as LICENSE. It does not allow redistributing, republishing or selling TaktSignal, distributing modified copies, or presenting it as your own; the source code is not published. Bundled third-party components (Node.js, PostgreSQL, OpenSSL, ICU, GNU libiconv, the npm packages listed in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt and others) are licensed by their authors under their own terms, also included with every download. Nothing in these terms or in the TaktSignal licence restricts rights those licences give you.

8. No warranty

To the extent permitted by the law that applies to you, TaktSignal Community Alpha is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Because it is free, early software, we are not liable for losses arising from its use — including production delays, lost orders or data loss — except where the law does not allow such a limitation. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer or other mandatory law.

9. Changes and ending

We may update these terms with a new Community Alpha release; the date above changes when we do. You can stop using TaktSignal at any time: uninstall it and, if you wish, remove all local data (Control Center → Advanced → Uninstall). Removing TaktSignal never changes ERPNext.
