Release notes — Community Alpha 0.1.0
Status: prepared, not yet published. This page describes the first public Community Alpha build. The version, files and checksums on the download page come from the signed release metadata and are authoritative.
What TaktSignal is
Manufacturing Operational Intelligence for ERPNext. TaktSignal reads ERPNext operational data — sales orders, work orders, BOMs, stock, purchase orders and receipts — and helps teams see material, production, capacity and data-trust risks earlier, with the reason, the evidence, the estimated time at stake and a confidence label. It is decision support: not an ERP, not an MES, not a scheduler, and not production-proven.
Who this release is for
Manufacturers on ERPNext, operations and production managers, planners, ERPNext implementers and technically curious factory owners who can test against a staging or isolated copy of ERPNext and tell us what TaktSignal gets right and wrong. See Community Alpha limitations.

ERPNext versions exercised
ERPNext 15 (v15.121.4) and ERPNext 16 (v16.36.0), with synthetic factory data. Older versions connect with a warning and are not validated.
Privacy model
- Read-only ERPNext connection with a dedicated Reader; setup refuses Administrator and write-capable accounts.
- An operational copy of your ERPNext data is stored locally, in TaktSignal's own database on your computer.
- No telemetry, no usage analytics, no crash reporting service, no advertising or tracking, no installation ID.
- No AI data sharing in the desktop build.
- Update checks only when you click, with no identifiers or factory data.
- Diagnostics only when you export them; no secrets or names inside.

Known limitations
- macOS: unsigned test build. macOS shows “Apple could not verify TaktSignal is free of malware” until you approve the app once. This is expected for a build that is not notarized yet; it is not a malware finding.
- Windows is experimental and not code-signed.
- Tested in Chrome/Chromium; Safari, Firefox and Edge not yet.
- One computer, one person; no team sharing in the desktop build.
- Estimates and confidence are rule-based and not yet calibrated on enough real factories.
- No scheduled automatic backups (backups are taken before updates and restores, and on demand).

Diagnostics and support
Control Center → Help & diagnostics → Export diagnostics, then follow Diagnostics and support. Never post API keys, passwords, backups or customer data.
Third-party software and source availability
This release bundles Node.js and PostgreSQL (with their own components). Licences and notices ship inside the app and are summarised in Licenses and notices, including where to obtain the source code of the LGPL-licensed GNU libiconv library bundled with PostgreSQL.
Not claimed
This release is not production-ready, not code-signed, not certified or externally audited, and has not been validated in enough real factories to claim time savings. Community Alpha exists to find out.
