Diagnostics and support

When something goes wrong, a diagnostics file lets us understand how TaktSignal sees your installation — without seeing your factory's data.

Export diagnostics

Control Center → Help & diagnostics → Export diagnostics → Download diagnostics file. The file (taktsignal-support-<date>.json) is created only when you click, is kept in the diagnostics folder of your data folder, and goes nowhere unless you send it.

What it contains

  • TaktSignal version, release channel, commit and build date, bundled runtime versions;
  • operating system, version and architecture;
  • health of the database, application and background updates; setup stage;
  • ERPNext and Frappe versions, whether the connection uses HTTPS, how many companies the Reader can see;
  • the read-only check result, the permission matrix (which document types are readable) and capability states;
  • synchronization summaries: status, duration, counts, error categories;
  • counts of alerts by type, severity, confidence and status; counts of orders by status and risk level;
  • recent warning and error messages of the TaktSignal supervisor, and the names of recent events (setup, backup, update…);
  • company, site and user as keyed hashes — random per export, the key is never stored, so they cannot be reversed.

What it never contains

Passwords, API keys or secrets, database credentials, session tokens, the ERPNext address, company, customer, supplier, user or item names, e-mail addresses, postal addresses, document numbers, document contents or free-text explanations. Before writing the file, TaktSignal scans it for every secret it holds, the ERPNext host, your home folder path and every company, customer, supplier, item, user and document name in its database; if a single one is found, no file is written.

It is designed to be safe to attach to a public issue. Please still open it (any text editor) and read it before sharing.

Reporting a problem safely

Use the route on the Support page. Include:

  • what you did, what you expected and what happened;
  • the exact message you saw (a screenshot is fine — hide customer, supplier and company data first);
  • your computer and OS version, the TaktSignal version (top right of the Control Center), your ERPNext version;
  • the diagnostics file.

Never post, anywhere public:

  • ERPNext API keys or secrets, passwords;
  • ERPNext backups, TaktSignal backups or database dumps;
  • raw customer, supplier or factory data, screenshots of real orders;
  • your ERPNext address, if you do not want it known.

For a suspected security problem, do not open a public issue — see Security.
