Privacy and your data

Your ERPNext. Your machine. Your database. Your factory data. TaktSignal reads operational information to help surface risk. It does not need to watch you.

This page describes what the installed Community Alpha does. The website's own behaviour is covered by the privacy policy.

What TaktSignal reads from ERPNext

With the read-only TaktSignal Reader, TaktSignal reads: items and item groups, BOMs, workstations, warehouses and stock levels, sales orders, work orders and job cards, purchase orders, purchase receipts and invoices, stock entries and stock reconciliations, the company list, and customer names (with the customer's territory and e-mail address if they are recorded in ERPNext). Supplier names come with purchase orders.

It only sends read requests. It never creates, changes, submits, cancels or deletes anything in ERPNext.

What TaktSignal stores on your computer

TaktSignal does store data — deliberately, and only on your computer:

Data folder: macOS ~/Library/Application Support/TaktSignal (logs in ~/Library/Logs/TaktSignal), Windows %LOCALAPPDATA%\TaktSignal, Linux ~/.local/share/taktsignal (logs in ~/.local/state/taktsignal). Only your OS user account can read it.

What leaves your computer

That is all. There is no telemetry, no usage analytics, no crash-reporting service, no advertising or tracking, no device fingerprinting and no installation identifier. Like any web request, the release server and your ERPNext server see your computer's internet address when they are contacted.

AI

Alerts, estimates and confidence come from documented rules that run on your computer. The desktop Community Alpha has no AI data sharing: it sends no factory data to any AI provider. (Server installations of TaktSignal have an optional AI wording of the daily brief; it is off by default and states what it would send before it is used.)

Diagnostics

Created only when you click Export diagnostics, and shared only if you send the file to someone. It contains versions, health, setup stage, capability states, counts and error categories — no passwords, API keys, ERPNext address, company, customer, supplier, user or item names, document numbers or document contents. TaktSignal refuses to create the file if it finds one of those values in it. See Diagnostics and support.

What TaktSignal (the project) receives

Nothing from your installation, unless you choose to send a diagnostics file or write to us. We do not sell, share or use factory data for advertising, and we do not use it to train AI models — we never receive it.

Deleting your data

Control Center → Advanced → Uninstall TaktSignal → Remove all TaktSignal data, then type DELETE. This removes the database, backups, settings, logs, diagnostics and the saved passwords. It never touches ERPNext. See Uninstall.
